Greater Liberty Saturday Rides
Fall and winter Schedule 2011-12

Our prime-riding season is April through September. But we ride every Saturday of the year. Below is our fall and winter schedule. Our Fall and Winter rides begin at 8 a.m.

Greater Liberty Riders we call ourselves. The name comes from the 125-mile circle we drew around Liberty, home of Biscari Brothers Bicycles, where most of our rides begin. We drew the circle 125 miles out because that's about how far any of us could ride on our best days. (Some can ride farther.)

We've been riding every Saturday for nine years. We're an informal bunch. Anyone who rides with us once and gives us their email address is a member. We number 371 at the moment. We ride between 25 and 50 miles on any given Saturday. To breakfast we ride. In a small town café. Getting there by bicycle hones appetites razor sharp. Talk around the table as we eat makes friends.

Of the hundreds of towns in Greater Liberty, we will ride on Saturdays from this April until the end of September to these 12. By going somewhat regularly to these good places, we become part of the ambiance, a place where everyone knows our names. For a map of Greater Liberty, go to www.greaterliberty.org

Mill Inn in Excelsior Springs, Fubbler's Cove in Orrick, Catrick's Café in Lawson and Sarah's Table in Kearney are long time supporters of our Greater Liberty Ride for MS. They have given us meals and money. I ride often during the week to each of them. Sarah's Table is small, and on Saturday's when a bunch of us come at once, they can't accommodate us. And the Kearney VFW Hall serves breakfast only on Saturday. With lots of room and cafeteria-style service, a bunch of bikers can be quickly served. So we go there. I go often to Sarah's Table to make up for our not coming on Saturdays. First Watch in North Kansas City, Cook's Corner in Dearborn, Harmer's in Edgerton, Lowman's in Smithville, and County Cookin' in Platte City are great places to eat breakfast, and they're always glad to see us. —RIDE SCHEDULE SUBJECT TO CHANGE—

**Ride begins in Ferrelview
